When another J.D. Power’s Satisfaction survey was released in 2015 showing little progress was made in the mortgage industry as it related to service over the past 20 years, a doorway was opened. Clients were confused, dissatisfied, uncomfortable, and left in the dark with many unanswered questions. This was unacceptable. Clients deserved personal attention, sound advice, and a commitment to world-class service.
Hall Financial (NMLS #1467435) was formed in early 2016, founded on a common mission: to be the most client focused mortgage company in the industry’s history. We were going to stop the trend of treating homeowners and homebuyers as transactions and instead, welcome them as family. We were going to treat them like the queen of England.
David Hall (NMLS #381502) invited a few high-powered professionals to meet at a coffee shop in Southeast Michigan and the first bricks to the company’s foundation were laid. The team began to grow and moved into a small 1200-square-foot office. Early adopters of the mission were energized by the challenge.
The company flourished quickly, building a following of satisfied homeowners and homebuyers in its wake. When Crain’s Detroit Business interviewed David in those first few months of starting up Hall Financial, he shared his philosophy: “We’re going to be marketing to people who…think doing a mortgage is something they can’t fathom themselves and need to talk to someone. Our slice of the pie is people who know banks move too slow and want good service and consultation.
